Tom Osborne has the necessary experience to take on the issues facing Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) – and indeed – all of Canada during these uncertain times. Tom has led the toughest ministries in the provincial government that required the greatest attention. He was chosen for these roles because of his attention to detail, negotiation skills, and his reputation as a steady hand at the wheel. These are the qualities that our constituency, our province, and our country need as we face the challenges ahead.

Over 30 years of service, Tom has led the provincial Ministries of Finance, Health, Justice, Education, Labour, Environment and Conservation, and Service NL in addition to serving as Speaker and Deputy Speaker. When it comes to understanding how government works and how to get things done for his constituents, Tom’s record is second to none.

Tom has gained significant experience in organizational leadership and management through his work at executive governance levels. He has proven himself as a successful small business owner and effective negotiator, and has experience on both private and public boards. Tom has also led the negotiation of several collective agreements, and has worked with global lending agencies and bond rating agencies. Having served as Canada’s representative on The Executive Committee of The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, he has experience in international relationship building.

Tom is known for his charity work and has received the Queen’s Medal for Volunteerism. Tom is currently a board member of the charity Hope Air and General Manager of Dairy Farmers of Newfoundland and Labrador.
